For who ?

The SLICES-FR Research Infrastructure (Scientific Large Scale Infrastructure for Computing/Communication Experimental Studies – France) aims to unify access to experimental services in the fields of network protocols, radio technologies, Internet of Things, services and data collection as well as parallel and distributed computing.

The SLICES-FR GIS, established on 1 January 2026, comprises 13 founding members and 1 associate member (3 research organisations and 11 higher education institutions) and is aimed at researchers from both academia and industry, as well as students.

Looking beyond the French context, SLICES-FR extends its reach across borders by contributing to the development of the European research infrastructure SLICES-RI (Research Infrastructure), which comprises 17 partner countries and is scheduled to operate until 2042. European users of SLICES-RI will have access to the facilities operated by SLICES-FR and, conversely, French users registered with SLICES-RI will benefit from access to the facilities of European partners.

Apart from other European infrastructures dedicated to fundamental sciences, SLICES-RI is the first ESFRI-labeled infrastructure dedicated to computer science research.
